“Only the best for the little ones — personal placement of trained babysitters.“
Are you looking for a babysitter for regular or irregular assignments? The Red Cross Basel can put you in touch with a trained babysitter that has completed the Red Cross Babysitter course.
This babysitter placement service is for parents who would like to do something in their free time, whether it is going to the movies, dining out, or doing sports. It is important to clarify that this service from the Red Cross is not intended as a regular assignment to enable parents to work.
To be able to use this service, you have to complete and submit an online application form.

Babsy — A local babysitter agency, operating in Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft
Safe. Swift. Secure. The new world of childcare.
Babsy is a non-profit association committed to providing a safe marketplace for parents and childcare providers. With Babsy, both parents and babysitters go through a personal verification and onboarding process. After completion, users get access to an app with which they can contact babysitters.
General information
- The big advantage of this service is that only verified users can connect and exchange information. Fees are charged per booking or per year in a membership plan. Unfortunately, Babsy’s website is a bit overcomplicated, and the English version contains many errors, so we recommend getting in touch via email or phone to get your questions answered.
- You can find the Babsy app in the app stores. Babsy also organizes yearly meet-and-great events that you can join to meet their babysitters in person.
You can find more information on Babsy’s website here.
