School Feature: ISB – International School Basel

Our School Feature series is designed for parents exploring private and international schools in and around Basel. The aim of this series is to give parents a clear overview of each school’s programs, educational concept, after-school activities, and what makes each school unique. You’ll find the school’s admission contact at the bottom of this article, so feel free to reach out to them directly for more details.

In this blog post, we feature ISB – International School Basel.

What makes ISB different

Rooted in Basel, Ready for the World

We help students grow as global citizens, ready to make a positive impact on their world.

For younger learners, our English-German Dual Language Programme supports integration into the local community while developing global perspectives. For older students, our English programme is complemented with German, French and Spanish classes at various levels.

We take pride in our students consistently achieving excellent results, placing ISB among the leading schools worldwide.

A Holistic Approach to Learning and Growth

We inspire every single student to discover their talents and pursue their dreams.

We focus on the whole child, fostering intellectual, creative and artistic growth. Our curriculum, enriched by a wide range of extracurricular activities, ensures that students can explore their passions—whether in music, sports, art, technology, debate and more!

An Inclusive Community Where Everyone is Welcome

At ISB, everyone is welcome.

Our inclusive, diverse community values each student’s individuality, providing personalised support so every child can reach their full potential. We welcome students with different backgrounds and abilities, adapting our approaches to their individual needs.

Embracing Innovation, Fostering Critical Thinking

We equip students with the tools and judgement to embrace innovation responsibly.

Digital learning is embedded in all aspects of our curriculum, providing students with the knowledge and tools to engage meaningfully with technology in an ethical and responsible manner. We provide parents with recommendations to navigate the use of digital devices as a family at home.

Wellbeing at the Core

We nurture the whole child: mind, body and heart.

Through dedicated programmes for students and teachers, we foster their social, emotional and physical health, providing a supportive and welcoming environment where everyone feels valued, loved and respected.

We support families with dedicated workshops where they can learn strategies to help their children manage their everyday challenges.

Our students leave ISB ready for life beyond school.

With excellent IB results, personalised guidance and a wide range of course options, ISB prepares students for higher education in Switzerland, Europe and around the world.

Our experienced university counsellors work closely with families to help students identify their strengths, plan their academic journey and navigate applications confidently.
