SIS Swiss International School Basel

Since 1999, SIS Basel has been putting the bilingual education concept into action, with excellent results. Our school community is characterised by a vibrant and nurturing multicultural environment and represents more than forty nationalities. We have an unparalleled reputation as the ideal school for children and young people with big plans for the future in a globalised world. This is a view shared by both Swiss parents and those who have moved to the neighbourhood from abroad.

About SIS Basel

SIS is a place of learning in a holistic way. We care about the development of emotional and social skills as much as for the acquisition of knowledge. As a day school, we are committed to doing everything we can to support children as they grow up and to provide a valuable complement to their family life. This includes lunchtime meal offers, before- and after-school care, and homework supervision as well as exciting activities, even during school holidays.

We offer continuous education on all levels and under the same roof: kindergarten, primary school, secondary school and college. On all levels, subjects are taught in German and English. However, bilingualism is not a prerequisite for joining the school.

At our SIS bilingual college, we guide young people to achieving the nationally recognised bilingual Swiss Matura and/or the globally recognised International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma.

After-school activities and clubs

At SIS Basel, we offer a wide range of after-school activities, sports, and clubs designed to offer students fun and exciting opportunities to explore various interests. From sports such as basketball, football, running club, gymnastics, CrossFit, jazz & dance, yoga, and climbing to creative activities such as art and musical theatre, there is something for everyone. Students can also join programs such as History Bowl and Model United Nations (MUN).

Additionally, students have opportunities to participate in internal and external sports championships, as well as summer camps, ski camps, excursions, and overnight trips.

To keep students engaged during school breaks, SIS Basel organizes a holiday club during school breaks, providing a week of exciting activities and short trips.
